For organisations

CareBoard for organisations

One page you can forward internally.

This is for carers centres, charities, support services, local authority teams and anyone deciding whether CareBoard is worth mentioning to the families they work with. It sets out what CareBoard is, what it costs, and how it handles information, so you can judge whether it is appropriate to pass on.

What it is

A simple way for families to coordinate care

CareBoard gives family members and other unpaid carers one shared place for day-to-day care information about a person they support. It keeps routines, appointments, notes, concerns and handovers together, so people sharing the care can stay in step without chasing each other through messages.

It is a small, independent app, and it is not a clinical or statutory system - see what CareBoard is not below.

Who it suits

Who CareBoard is for

It tends to suit households where more than one person is involved in someone's care. As examples, that might be families supporting:

  • an older parent, often with siblings sharing the care
  • a disabled family member
  • someone living with dementia
  • an autistic family member
  • someone with ongoing appointments, medication, routines or handovers

These are illustrations rather than a complete list. CareBoard is general-purpose: it is not designed around any one condition, and it makes no claims about any of them.

In practice

What families can use it for

  • Shared notes, pinned notes and concerns
  • Handovers, when someone else takes over for a while
  • Appointments and reminders
  • Daily routines and tasks
  • Medication information the family records
  • A Care Circle, so the right people have the right access
  • Circle Chat, for messages kept with the care they relate to
  • Notifications when something changes that others need to know

Everything above is in the app today. Information is entered by the people in the care circle; CareBoard organises and presents it.

Cost

Cost and access

  • £2.99 a month, with the first 7 days free
  • One subscription covers up to 3 CareBoards a subscriber owns
  • People invited into a CareBoard do not need their own subscription
  • There are no adverts, and no advertising or tracking cookies

CareBoard is on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, and it runs in a browser on phone, tablet or desktop, which is how it is used on Android today.

For your team

What organisations need to know

You do not need to sign anything

There is no partnership, procurement process, agreement or integration involved in mentioning CareBoard to families, or in listing it alongside other resources. If it is useful to the people you support, you are welcome to point them at it.

Staff can try it

If your team would like to look at CareBoard properly before recommending it, email support@quietlyusefulapps.com and we can arrange access for staff to evaluate it. Please say roughly how many people need it.

CareBoard is not a professional care record

CareBoard is a coordination tool for families and unpaid carers. It is not a clinical system, a statutory care record, or a substitute for professional advice, and it is not intended to replace anything your organisation or a health service already uses. Care information is entered by members of the care circle - CareBoard may organise or assemble it into summaries and handovers, but it does not diagnose, verify or independently check what people record in it.

Privacy

Privacy and data

CareBoard holds account details such as an email address and display name, the care information a circle chooses to enter, and the email addresses of people invited into a CareBoard. Care information can include health, disability and support details, so it is treated as sensitive.

CareBoard's main database is hosted in Central EU (Frankfurt, Germany) through Supabase, which provides its database, authentication and backend services. Subscriptions are handled by Apple for purchases made in the app, and by Stripe on the web. Care information is not used for advertising, marketing profiling, data brokerage or AI training.

The full detail - what is held, why, who it is shared with, how long it is kept and what rights people have - is in the privacy policy rather than summarised here: Read the CareBoard privacy policy.
